Here's What I Have Been Doing Since My Last Post Including May's Christmas Ornament

Hi Blogger Friends

I have been very lax of late in keeping up with my Blog, but at least I have been doing some stitching.

The following is my latest update.

Firstly here is this months Ornament for the 2013 Ornament SAL, I chose to stitch one of the Santa's from the Prairie Schooler Bk 20. St. Nicholas - as usual I will finish it off nearer to Christmas ready for my tree.

As I have managed to hurt my shoulder and neck I have been unable to sit and stitch at either of my Lowery Stand or my new Needle Needs one, so I have been using hand frames, hoops or stitching freehand. Below is what I have been up to

This will eventually be a folded needlesafe. It is worked on a linen band so no difficult finishing is required so I should be able to make it up without to much difficulty. It includes lots of different speciality stitches and I enjoyed my evening working on it. I actually made quite a bit of progress.

I spent a day working on Janury by Prairie Schooler and had a very good stitching session.

I then started work on my next FWC Card Exchange project, above is the start I have made it will be Foxgloves when completed, hopefully by my next post.

I then spent a couple of evenings working on English Garden, it is coming along very well and I am hoping to get this completed before the end of May.

The next bit of stitching I have worked on recently is the Roll Your Own Mandala which is a design by Tracy Horner of Ink Circles and can be found at this yahoo group page Roll Your Own 2013 .
Basically the design consists of four colour families and you select your own colours.
Below is my start on the colours I chose. I have so far come up with about 12 different combinations, it is a lot of fun.

Finally I dragged out my All Our Yesterdays design In the Poppy Field, below is my progress to date.

I have also managed to do some work on my Crochet Blanket, I am hoping by the winter it will be big enough to cover my legs it is currently about 2 foot square.

This has been my 99th post since restarting my Blog last November. For my 100th post I will do a giveaway and so will have a looksy through my stash and see what I can come up with for it.

Bye for now

May TUSAL plus the last weeks stitching update

Well I am a couple of days late with the TUSAL this month but here is my ORT jar.

So the first thing I did in the last week was complete the Butterfly Card for the card exchange with Friends Who Count (FWC).

I spent Monday, Tuesday and Friday working on Joan Elliott's Chrysanthemum Fairy and here is my progress photo, still on the same page but slowly getting there.

On Wednesday I worked on European Reproduction Samplers Martha Jones below is my progress

This weekend I continued working on Mirabilia Sabrina. I did 4hrs work and I am pleased with the progress I am making. I have decided to change the Caron Waterlilies for DMC Color Variations to keep the cost of the project down. Here is the progress :-

Finally I also started work on this months Christmas ornament for the Ornament SAL. I have chosen to do another Prairie Schooler santa, this one comes from Bk 20 St Nicholas. Below is my progress so far, I think I should be able to get this completed before the end of the month.

Well that's it for this week

Bye for now

AOY, Sabrina, Butterfly card and more :-)

In the last week I have worked on a couple of cross stitch projects. Firstly I dug out an All Our Yesterdays kit called In the Poppy Field , but which I refer to as The Windmill as there is a windmill in the background. I spent a couple of days working on this and this is where it is now.

Having had a few odd weeks not really doing anything much just a bit of this and that, I have decided to return to my Stitching plan which means on Monday 6th I will be back to working on Joan Elliott's Chrysanthemum Fairy on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday until it is completed. On Wednesday I will work on Martha Jones which is the second project on my Stitching plan and the weekends I am going to alternate monthly between Mirabilia Sabrina and January Garnet Fairy. To this end I actually worked on Sabrina this weekend and below is my progress

I am also currently stitching a card as part of my FWC Card Exchange, the theme this time is butterflies and below is my progress to date. I need to get this completed and posted in the next week. I have stitched it on 14ct DMC butterfly aida

This week I also received a prize from a Giveaway that I entered in Cross Stitcher magazine. It is Bothy Threads - Gorjuss The Last Rose kit, it was a really pleasant surprise. I think in the almost 20 years that I have been entering cross stitch competitions and giveaways this is the 5th time I have won anything.

Finally a close up photo of my cherry tree. We planted this shortly after we moved here nearly 11 years ago and it is the first time I have realised what a lovely delicate scent the blossom has. I probably have not noticed it before as usually we have had winds that have blown the blossom away anyway, it is a pretty blossom but also one that smells divine

Well that's it for this  posting

Bye for  now
