Stitching Update 27th September 2013

Hi Blogger Friends

This week has seen a major change at home my daughter has left for University, it is going to be very quiet and a lot tidier with her not at home. I hope she enjoys her three years studying for a BSc in Geography with Natural Hazards

Below is this weeks update on my Works in Progress

Saturday and Sunday

Argentine Tango went from this

to this

Viennese Waltz went from this
 to this
Only a couple hours worked on this but I had had a marathon stitching session the  previous day and my hand was hurting. Hope for better progress next week.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Chrysanthemum Fairy went from this
to this

I wanted to get at least 10 hours work done on Chrysanthemum Fairy this week. I managed to do just over 7 hours.

Wednesday

How Does Your Garden Grow went from this
 to this
I completed all the stitching and just have part 6 - 12 to bead, so hopefully will be a finish next week.

Friday

Scottish Garden went from this
 to this
I finished it - Happy Dance Woo Hoo :-)
I also started the next in the series Welsh Garden, below are photos of what it will look like when complete and my progress

Other Stitching

Lizzie Kate Halloween Mystery went from this
to this

This project I aimed to do an hour each day which I did manage to do and I am very pleased that I have completed Part One.

I also continued with the Framecraft 12 Days of Christmas ornaments and managed to finish 6 geese a-laying.

On the whole very pleased with yet another productive stitching week.
Well that is it for this week.

Bye for now

2013 Ornament SAL - September

Hi Blogger Friends,

This month I have managed to stitch 4 ornaments from the Framecraft series the 12 Days of Christmas. I will put them in their frames in December when I finish off all the other ornaments I have made this year ready to put on the tree.
I already made one and two earlier in the year and I intend to keep working on these now so that I have all 12 complete by December. They actually only take a couple of hours to do but are fiddly.

That is it for this month

Stitching Update 20th September 2013

Hi Blogger Friends

Another week and another update of my Works in Progress

Saturday and Sunday

On Saturday I managed to spend 4 hrs stitching on Viennese Waltz and it has gone from this
to this

On Sunday I worked on Argentine Tango which has gone from this
to this

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Chrysanthemum Fairy has gone from this
to this

Wednesday

How Does Your Garden Grow has gone from this
to this

Nearly there with this project. I would have probably completed the stitching part this week had I not had one speciality stitch that has caused me no end of problems. There are two of these speciality stitches on both outside edges. I will attempt them again next week and also earlier in the day when my concentration levels are higher.

Friday

Scottish Garden has gone from this
to this

I should complete this design next Friday.

This week I have also done some other stitching. Firstly I have stitched 3 Christmas ornaments, they are from the 12 Days of Christmas set by Framecraft. I already stitched the first two earlier in the year and am now endeavouring to get the set completed before my tree goes up in December

and I also made a start on the Lizzie Kate Halloween Mystery sampler that I bought some time ago. I changed the fabric. It came with 30ct Tin Roof which I was  not very keen on. I decided to use 28ct Cashel Linen in Spring Crocus from The Crafty Kitten. Below are photos of what the design looks like when complete and  where I got to this week after spending  a couple of hours on it. I am hoping to complete this before this coming Halloween.

I am really pleased that I have had a productive week stitching wise.

That's it for this week

Stitching Update 13th September 2013

Hi Blogger Friends

Well here follows this weeks Stitching Update.

Saturday and Sunday

Argentine Tango has gone from this

to this

I am very pleased with this weeks progress. I spent approximately 5 hrs stitching on this.

Viennese Waltz has gone from this

 to this
I only managed a couple of hours as I had a bit of a headache, but some progress was made which is the main thing. Apologies for the poor photo, camera playing up - or I don't know how to use it properly, most likely the second. Anyway I hope to get a bit more done next week.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Chrysanthemum Fairy progress before my work this week was this
and this is where I have got to after about 5 hours of work

Wednesday

How Does Your Garden Grow - this is where I left it last week
so finally I am on part 12 the final part of the project and this is where I managed to get to

and here is a clearer photo of the actual bit I worked on Part 12 this week

Friday

Scottish Garden - this is where I left it last Friday
and after my efforts on Friday, this is where I have got to

Well that is it for this week, on the whole I am pleased with my progress.

Bye for now

Stitching Update 6th September 2013

Hi Blogger Friends

Below you will find this week Stitching update

.So I have now established my stitching schedule for the coming weeks.

Saturday and Sunday

Every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas  I will be working on Viennese Waltz or Argentine Tango by John Clayton for Heritage Crafts. As there are still 16 Saturdays and Sundays to go  I may even complete these by then.

Below are photos of my starting points, followed by where I got to.
This is after 4 hrs stitching. My stitching involved frogging the area which is the arm. This is stitched in a blend of white and skin tone. I had previously stitched it in lilac and skin tone (see 1st photo). It was an easy mistake to make as one has this / symbol the other \ that symbol. So I would say I probably spent 1/2 hr frogging and restitching that section. That said I am pleased with my progress.

I managed to do 3 hrs stitching on Argentine Tango and again I am pleased with my progress.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

On these days I will be working on Joan Elliott's Chrysanthemum Fairy and I will continue on this piece until it is completed. Hopefully sometime this autumn.
I did not manage to get a great amount of time worked on this project, mainly a couple of hours on Monday and Thursday and nothing on the Tuesday. I am hoping for better things next week. So here is where I am now at with Chrysanthemum Fairy

Wednesday

How Does Your Garden Grow
From this - to this
and a close up of Part 11

Friday

Scottish Garden
From this - to this
So this is all the stitching I have managed over the last week. On the whole I am pleased with the progress I am making.

As for my challenges well they  have sort of died a death, but I did manage them for a few weeks and that is something. Who knows perhaps in January I will revive them.

Bye for now
