Update 8th December 2015

Hi Blogger Friends,

I have had a really good stitching week. Below is what I have finished, made progress on and started !! :-)

In last week's blog post you saw the stitching finishes for the two fairy cards and below is what they looked like before posting them. They were a freebie kit designed by Lucie Heaton.

I also completed my Mum's Christmas card which is a Joan Elliott Design from Cross Stitch Crazy Christmas booklet 2014
And drum roll -  after 95.5 hrs over 34 stitching days Snowshoe is now finished. I really loved stitching this project. Kit by DMC designed by the very talented Jayne Netley Mayhew

Last week saw my start on my December Pin Cushion and below are day one's progress and after a week
I am really pleased with what I have achieved as my aim was to get the central green section completed and I have easily done that.

Once I completed working on Snowshoe I  returned to working on Twas the Night in the evenings. This design is by Sue Hillis and I love it. Now because I was finding the border a little tricky, it is quite fiddly with lots of colour changes I decided to complete the lettering and then return to border at the end. So below is my last update photo with my current progress beneath
So you can see the poem itself is complete and I am hopeful that by this time next week this project will also be complete.

I have also made progress on a Christmas card which I had not posted before but was working on. Another freebie cover kit these are designed by Margaret Sherry.
So just the back stitching to go and I have not decided yet if I am going to make up into cards or ornaments. If I get the other two done they will probably be given to my Husband and children.

I have made a start on my Husband's 50th Birthday card but won't be able to post any photos until after the 3rd January as my husband does read my blog posts, but lets say progress is being made if albeit slowly.

Because I am currently stitching really what I want no proper rotation in place until the New Year, just trying to get a few things completed, this next start was just calling me. So I have had this project in my stash for a couple of years and so I had a piece of 25ct Lugana going spare (I think I had purchased it for a HAED), the design is True Love by Blackwork Journey. Below is what it should look like and my progress after two days.
Really enjoying spending a little time each day on this and I am loving my new hoop it keeps the fabric lovely and tight. I will definitely be getting the smaller ones by this manufacturer.

Finally I had one kit that I ordered a few weeks back arrive. This is Janlynn Winter Sampler. I will get the others in this series at some stage.
and I found a clear glass Christmas bauble in Sainsburys with Merry Christmas 2015 written on it so decided to empty my ORT jar into it. I am really pleased with the result.
So that's it for this week.

Until next time,
take care and Happy Stitching

Update 1st December 2015

Hi Blogger Friends,

This is a quick update of what I have been doing in the last week and what my plans are for the remainder of this year.

Firstly some finishes
November Pin Cushion by Sheena Rogers/Cross Stitch Collection Magazine. This has now been backed and stuffed finally finished on 30 November 2015.

These two little fairies I stitched up in one evening and will  make them up into cards this week. They were a magazine cover kit from Cross Stitch Crazy magazine designed by Lucie Heaton. Quick and fun to stitch.

I have started to stitch my Mum a Christmas card it is from Joan Elliott and is in the Christmas Chart Book from Cross Stitch Crazy 2014. This is where I have got to after 3 evenings stitching.

My aim is to get this finished and posted by Friday.
I also made a start on the December Pin Cushion this morning at around 6.30am. Below are photos of the completed design and my progress after an hours stitching.
My goal for this one is to continue doing a little each day until it is completed.

Plans for the rest of the month are to complete my Mum's Christmas card, complete December's Pin Cushion and  return to working on Snowshoe by DMC/Jayne Netley Mayhew until it is completed.
This is where I got to in November a little section of Cross Stitching remaining and then the small amount of back stitching to be done. I was fortunate to be able to get a second cat from this series in the last week. I decided to go for Turkish Angora and was able to get it for £17.80 which I think is a very good price.

I think Amazon went a little overkill on the packaging but I wont complain as far as I am concerned the kit was a bargain.

Once Snowshoe is done I will be working on completing Twas the Night by Sue Hillis Designs. Below is where I got to after 7 days stitching on the project. The lettering works ups really quickly but the border is very fiddly and has slowed my progress considerably, but I think it will be completed in under 20 stitching days and it will be finished before the New Year.
So this is where I am currently at I should complete the Card this week, continue progressing on my December Pin Cushion and with a bit of luck finish off stitching Snowshoe as well.

Bye for now

Take Care
